Tell Lawmakers: Stop Rollbacks and Promote Renewable Energy

This year marks the 55^th anniversary of Earth Day (April 22)—and recent wildfires and natural disasters are a stark reminder that we are at a turning point for the health and welfare of our planet and its people.

Renewable energy offers an unparalleled opportunity to power the world sustainably while creating millions of new jobs, lowering energy prices, enhancing global security and energy independence as well as improving human health. 

Many countries around the world are already proving that solar, wind, hydroelectric and geothermal energy can power entire regions — and it’s time for the U.S. to lead the charge. 

In 2024, renewables accounted for about 90% of new installed capacity; renewables and battery storage now make up 30% of the country’s large-scale power generating capacity. In 2023, clean energy jobs grew at more than double the rate of job growth in the rest of the economy, adding 149,000 new jobs. This increase was seen in every state across the US.
