Contributing to EARTHDAY.ORG'S (EDO) unique perspective and voice to the discussion and conversation around climate and environmental literacy.
Supporting our network by creating, curating, or sharing high-quality mission-aligned education resources for use across teaching and learning environments.
Identifying, showcasing, and amplifying the work of our network, including youth advocates, teachers, students, organizations, etc., to support them as they continue their trajectories.
Elevate and amplify diverse stories and experiences around Earth Day or other EDO initiatives such as climate and environmental literacy.
Create dialogues of support and collaboration between and among EDO and our growing, global network of education professionals.
Activity Areas
EDO'sEducation focuses on four essential areas to increase global climate literacy efforts worldwide. These four areas provide individuals of all ages with crucial knowledge and skills to improve the earth's overall health. EDO'sEducation four areas are the following:
Climate and environmental literacy, coupled with strong civic education, will create jobs, build a green consumer market and allow citizens to engage with their governments in a meaningful way to address the climate crisis.
Green schools are committed to environmental sustainability, which focuses on promoting healthy, nutritious meals, reducing environmental impacts and costs (ex. reducing energy and water use), increasing sustainability literacy, and spreading awareness of eco-friendly practices.
