Dan Mele is a research assistant at the University of the Virgin Islands. Dan’s research focuses on developing cost-effective techniques in coral restoration that are scalable to the wider Caribbean region. In addition to his research, Dan works for multiple organizations as a science/conservation photographer and filmmaker. He believes that bridging art and science will build the public’s connection to the natural world.
