Job Title: Director of Marketing Strategy & Implementation

Overview:
As the Director of Marketing Strategy & Implementation, you will report directly
to the Chief Creative and Content Officer, leading the development and
execution of marketing strategies that align with our organizational goals.
You’ll oversee the marketing aspect of worldwide campaigns that target
diverse audiences, including the public, business partners, sponsors, and
potential donors. Specifically, you will guide marketing efforts for the Earth Day
2025, our climate education campaign, our end plastics campaign, and the
Earth Day Global Conversation initiative, among others. Your role will be central
to driving public engagement and building key partnerships to further our
mission.
How You Will Contribute:

  • Strategic Marketing Leadership: Craft and execute compelling
    marketing strategies aimed at engaging a broad range of audiences,
    including the public, business partners, sponsors, and donors. Tailor
    messaging to resonate with each group and align with
    EARTHDAY.ORG’s global and national objectives. Create and manage
    marketing campaigns that work with a range of budget levels.
  • Campaign Execution: Lead marketing aspects of high profile
    campaigns, including Earth Day 2025, our climate efforts, and the Earth
    Day Global Conversation. You’ll collaborate with our communication,
    social media, press and development teams to maximize reach and
    influence across channels.
  • Partnership Development: Coordinate with development team to help
    cultivate and maintain relationships with sponsors, donors, and key
    business partners, ensuring our marketing efforts attract support for
    Earth Day’s global impact. Your work will directly contribute to building
    a network of committed supporters who share our mission.
  • Team Leadership & Culture: Inspire and guide staff working with you
    in collaboration on marketing strategies, providing clear vision and
    hands-on leadership. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work
    environment where creativity and innovation thrive.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Lead the development of KPIs to measure
    marketing effectiveness, working closely with the communications
    team to gather and analyze data. Use these insights to refine strategies
    and inform future campaigns, ensuring continuous growth and
    success.

What You Will Bring:

  • Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in marketing,
    with a focus on grassroots advocacy, legislative campaigns, or nonprofit marketing. A proven track record of executing successful
    campaigns that engage the public, attract sponsors, and drive donor
    support.
  • Marketing Tools & Technology: Familiarity with a range of marketing
    platforms, tools, and apps (e.g., CRM systems, email marketing platforms,
    social media analytics, SEO tools, content management systems, and
    data analysis tools) to effectively plan, execute, and analyze campaigns.
  • Strategic Vision: Expertise in developing integrated marketing plans
    with clear goals, measurable KPIs, and a deep understanding of
    audience segmentation. You’ll know how to craft tailored messages
    that resonate with different stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: A collaborative leadership style with experience
    mentoring and developing staff to deliver impactful results. You’ll create
    an environment where all voices are heard, and the team is motivated
    to excel.
  • Flexibility: At times you will be expected to work extended hours and
    weekends as necessary to complete the task at hand, especially in the
    lead up to Earth Day.
  • Vendor & Agency Relations: Experience in managing external agency
    relationships and knowing when and how to leverage additional
    resources to expand marketing impact and capabilities.
