Kolkata Launch of the eBook “Pathways to Green Cities”
April 23, 2014
In honor of the Earth Day 2014 theme, Green Cities, Earth Day Network India has compiled an eBook: “Pathways to Green Cities –Innovative Ideas from Urban India.” The book presents 24 case studies from 13 cities across India on innovative strategies that have already been implemented to make cities greener. Many of these are related to water and waste management. Others have to do with increasing the green cover, developing green buildings, traffic control, reduction of air pollution, use of renewable energies, and the judicious use of natural resources.
The eBook was officially launched in Kolkata on April 17, 2014 at the Oxford Bookstore by US Consul General Helen LaFave, Smt. Padmini Narayanan, Mrs. Maina Bhagat of Oxford Bookstore and EDN India Country Director Karuna Singh. The book launch was followed by presentations of a few of the innovative stories from the eBook.
You can download the eBook here.
We hope that those who read the case studies are inspired to adopt and replicate the novel ideas in their cities as well.
