EARTHDAY.ORG’s founders created and organized the very first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. Since then, EARTHDAY.ORG has been mobilizing over 1 billion people annually on Earth Day, and every other day, to protect the planet.

The Power of Collective Action

Our environmental legacy is a testament to the power of collective action, and it calls upon individuals, businesses, governments, and the private sector to join hands in safeguarding our planet. Now, more than ever, we must step up our efforts to combat climate change, protect biodiversity, and preserve our ecosystems. Join us today and fight for a sustainable and thriving future.

A recent Reuter’s article, confirmed by the White House Council on Environmental Quality’s spokesperson Justin Weiss, represents a significant step forward for the United States. With a commitment to set plastic production caps and regulate some of the most harmful chemicals used in the plastic industry.

EARTH DAY NEEDS YOU!

Please make a donation today to fund our advocacy and educational work across the world, so we can keep fighting for the health of planet Earth and the creatures that call it home. THANK YOU.

Two weeks after EARTHDAY.ORG released Pets vs. Plastics, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), announced it was ending the 17-year relationship with the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), which had been setting standards for pet food ingredients in the United States.

What were those standards? This arrangement made it possible for ingredients such as plastic packaging in restaurant waste, plastic identity ear tags left on carcass heads, dust, chaff, and even pig, cattle, and chicken feces to potentially make their way into our pets’ food.

But now, the FDA is letting the public weigh in on how pet food should be regulated. Find out more and add your voice before September 9th.

EARTHDAY.ORG is unwavering in our commitment to end plastics for the sake of human and planetary health, demanding a 60% reduction in the production of ALL plastics by 2040. Our theme, Planet vs. Plastics, calls to advocate for widespread awareness on the health risk of plastics, rapidly phase out all single use plastics, urgently push for a strong UN Treaty on Plastic Pollution, and demand an end to fast fashion. Join us as we build a plastic-free planet for generations to come!
